BOISE-- Rashad Crawford hit a bases clearing triple in the fourth inning, lifting the Boise Hawks to a 6-2 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Wednesday night. The win was Boise s fourth straight, and puts the Hawks just one game back of the Hops in the South division of the Northwest League.

Hillsboro lit up the scoreboard first, scoring a pair of runs in the top of the third. But Boise bounced back in the bottom half of the inning. With the bases loaded, Crawford roped a two-strike liner down the right field line. The triple plated all three runs and gave the Hawks a 3-2 lead. They wouldn t look back from there. Mark Zagunis scored Crawford on a single in his next at bat. Boise added a run in the fourth, and another in the fifth to button up the victory.

Crawford finished the night 2-for-4, with three RBI. Erick Leal (3-2) got the win on the mound, striking out two Hops batters in five innings of work.

With a little over a week left in the first half of the season, the Hawks will look to overtake the Hops in the standings on Thursday night.
